There’s a lot of discussion about whether or not we’re born enlightened.

Some people believe that we are all born with innate knowledge and wisdom, while others think we need to learn and grow to become enlightened.

So, which is it?

Are we born enlightened, or do we have to work for it?

Let’s take a closer look at this question and see what the answer might be.

Are we born enlightened?

No, we are not born enlightened.

Enlightenment is a process of realization that comes through the practice of contemplation, self-investigation, and meditation.

It is the awakening to our true nature as awareness itself.

However, we are born with the potential for enlightenment.

This potential is like a seed that can be cultivated and grown into its full bloom over time through practice and discipline.

With dedication and perseverance, enlightenment is something that can be realized in this very lifetime.

Just as a child needs time to grow into an adult, the soul also needs time to develop and awake to its higher potential.

Birth is simply the beginning of this journey.

Why aren’t we born enlightened?

Although some people may be born with a greater natural inclination towards enlightenment, for the most part, we are not born enlightened because we have not had enough life experience to learn from.

We come into this world with a blank slate, and it is only through our interactions with others and our own experiences that we begin to develop an understanding of the world around us.

It is only through learning and growing that we can gradually remove our veil of ignorance and see the world as it truly is.

Enlightenment comes gradually over time as we accumulate more knowledge and wisdom.

It is a never-ending journey that leads us ever closer to the truth.

Final thoughts

I hope this article has helped answer the question, “are we born enlightened?”

Although we are not born enlightened, we all have the potential for enlightenment within us.

It’s not an overnight process, but with dedication and perseverance, it is something that can be realized in this very lifetime.

Happy journey!

While connecting to my inner child and going through my identity crisis lol, I’ve come to the feeling that people are born enlightened. Almost everyone. Maybe enlightened is not the right word, I’m unsure. But I feel like at birth and in the early stages of childhood, that’s the truest, purest form of self we will ever experience. As we go through life and suffering, distance is forced between us and that self. And we spend our whole lives trying to find it.
Almost as if our spirit is at it’s fullest in infancy and then the initial trauma of birth and all our life experiences cause us to grow an attachment to the material world.
i dont even know what im on about but like yknow?

This is an interesting perspective. I can see how you could come to this conclusion based on your own experiences. It makes sense that we would spend our lives trying to find that pure, innocent self that we were born as. Unfortunately, birth and life experiences oftentimes lead us away from that state of being. But it’s good to know that there is always the potential to return to it. Thanks for sharing!
